Matchup Spots are a transparent posted-price way to secure a promotional challenger placement.
How it works
Matchup Spot Rules
Available Matchup Spots may be reserved at their posted price. A reservation holds the selected position for two minutes while the payment provider approves payment and App Championship captures it before the displayed deadline.
Schedule and Decreases
Prices start at a set maximum and follow scheduled price decreases. If you wait, the price may decrease—but another eligible customer may secure the spot first.
Matchup Spot Availability
Each category has specific Matchup Spot availability, typically one or two spots. Once every spot in a category is purchased, availability closes automatically regardless of the remaining schedule.
Reservations and Payment
There are no bids. Starting checkout places a two-minute hold. The payment provider must approve payment before App Championship captures it, and capture must complete before the displayed deadline or final-reconciliation cutoff.
Eligibility
To buy a Matchup Spot (when enabled), your app must be eligible for the target category and meet all standard App Championship quality guidelines. Operators reserve the right to refund and cancel claims that violate guidelines.
